Our Story

True Smile Design was developed by Dr. Rami Salloum, a board-certified implant dentist and innovator in digital restorative workflows. The concept emerged from firsthand clinical experience and a desire to improve the predictability of smile design outcomes.

Like many dentists, Dr. Salloum found that traditional digital smile design often required completing all esthetic planning upfront—before any real clinical work had begun. This approach, while visually impressive, frequently led to inconsistencies once treatment was underway. The initial designs and wax-ups didn’t always translate predictably to the final result.

True Smile Design offers a more dynamic and reliable alternative. Instead of fixating on a static digital wax-up from the start, the process begins with a streamlined smile design and quick wax-up that serve primarily as reference points. After tooth preparation, an initial provisional is fabricated—not as a final solution, but as a diagnostic and esthetic guide. This provisional is then scanned and used to inform the next stage of design.

The real refinement happens post-preparation. By combining the pre-op scan of the initial provisional with the scan of the prepared teeth, a second, more accurate provisional is created. This new prototype is facially driven, functionally precise, and tailored to the patient’s unique esthetic and anatomical features.
